West Side Production Satu Mare

The Project

During the period of February 2022 to March 2023, the INNOWEST project for technology transfer and innovation was implemented. As part of this project, a technology provider from Cluj-Napoca integrated an Industry 4.0 industrial robotic cell to perform two main operations on the production line of West Side Production factory in Satu Mare.

The solutions

The adapted and integrated industrial robotic arm provided by Inno Robotics ensures the following:

  • Welds metal parts, replacing manual labor.
  • Grinds the welded metal parts.
  • Transmits data to a cloud-based software system regarding the work performed and progress.
  • Enables interconnectivity with other robotic cells that will be purchased and installed in the factory.
  • Based on the collected data, allows for the installation of an artificial intelligence system that provides an overview of production prediction, consumption of consumable materials, energy consumption, and other recommendations for increasing efficiency and future production.

Among the benefits of implementing the solution in the factory are:

  1. Improved product quality.
  2. Cost reduction through significant reduction in defects.
  3. Optimization of production costs.
  4. Enhanced employee safety.
  5. Increased product offering flexibility.
  6. Data-driven decision making based on concrete figures automatically provided by the solution.

This project has had a positive impact on the solution’s beneficiary, West Side Production, increasing their long-term appetite for production automation and the implementation of intelligent systems. It has also created a product offering for the solution developer, Inno Robotics, which is of interest to other manufacturing SMEs.
