eLaborator

The Problem

Before organizing the experiment, eLaborator aimed to expand its product and service portfolio with a new product, specifically specialized furniture for laboratories. The previous manufacturing methods and production lines, mainly reliant on human labor, did not allow for production in a controlled and contamination-free environment.

Moreover, human labor did not meet the required level of quality, high efficiency, low resource consumption, and elimination of imperfections. The implemented solution also aimed to increase production flexibility to adapt to changing needs, redesign the production space, and enhance productivity across the entire company.

The Analysis

eLaborator’s interest in innovation and digital technologies was driven by the new trends in the industry of metal products for laboratories. Additionally, the digitization trends among customers and their increased focus on safety and enhanced protection created new opportunities for portfolio development for eLaborator.

The digital innovation experiment organized by Transilvania DIH aimed to: enhance adaptability to dynamic market contexts, automate internal processes, particularly those in production, acquire new capabilities, develop new skills for using robotic solutions in production, improve product quality, eliminate waste, and increase efficiency and productivity.

The digitalization initiative is part of a broader process of organizational change and transformation in which the company’s management aims to utilize digital technologies and robots in the production of furniture for medical laboratories, optimize the use of available resources, increase labor productivity, and improve internal process management.
