Within the TEDIHT project, the second event in the series Hackathon: Solutions for the Digitalization of the Public Sector – Meet the Mentors took place, marking an essential step in the development of digital solutions proposed for public administration.
Following the introduction delivered by Adina Cristea, TEDIHT Project Manager, the full teams met their assigned mentors for the first time. The meetings took place both in person and online and were dedicated to clarifying the challenges, defining working directions, and establishing the next steps for each project.
Mixed Teams, Multidisciplinary Support
The teams are composed of students and academic staff from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca and Babeș-Bolyai University, working together with mentors from industry representing companies that are members of Transilvania IT Cluster and beneficiaries of the TEDIHT project.
In addition to the technical component, all teams also receive guidance in the marketing area from Diana Roșca, Marketing Manager at SOFTECH, supporting them in structuring their ideas and clearly communicating the solutions they develop.
Hackathon Partners and Supporters
SOFTECH is a sponsor of the event, alongside Axion International Partners and Jackdaw Studio. They contribute through mentorship and by providing prizes for the teams, supporting the development of practical and relevant solutions for the public sector.
Challenges the Teams Are Working On
During the hackathon, teams are developing solutions for the following challenges identified together with public institutions and academia:
-
Intelligent HelpDesk for public institution employees – proposed by INCDTIM, coordinated by Oana Raița
-
Intelligent system for document inspection and archiving – proposed by UTCN, coordinated by Ovidiu Stan
-
Intelligent system for managing and monitoring parking subscriptions – proposed by UBB, coordinated by Darius Bufnea
The “Meet the Mentors” event marks the transition from team formation to hands-on work on the solutions, within a process that will continue with mentorship sessions and iterative development, leading up to the final presentation of results during Demo Day, scheduled for the end of April.
