The European Digital Innovation Hub in Transylvania (TEDIHT) has been featured in the 2024 Industrial Development Report, published by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). This mention highlights TEDIHT’s role in the digitalization and innovation of industries in northwestern Romania, just two years after starting operations with its beneficiaries.
The 2024 UNIDO report, titled “Turning Challenges into Sustainable Solutions,” examines major trends and challenges in global industrial development. Innovation plays a central role in economic growth, job creation, and sustainable development, and regional initiatives like TEDIHT are recognized for their contribution to these objectives.
TEDIHT – A Best Practice Example
The report cites TEDIHT as a successful example in developing local innovation ecosystems:
“A promising development in this direction is found in newly emerging multi-stakeholder initiatives, such as the Transylvania Digital Innovation Hub (a member of the European Digital Innovation Hubs network), which focuses on network creation, skills development, and financing in the northwestern region of Romania.”
This recognition underscores the hub’s importance in fostering collaboration between companies, universities, and local authorities to create a solid digital ecosystem. Our role in connecting these actors and facilitating access to digitalization resources is essential for strengthening regional competitiveness.
In its two years of implementation, TEDIHT has demonstrated its impact in supporting the digital transformation of businesses and organizations in northwestern Romania. Our activities focus on:
- Developing digital skills through training programs tailored to the needs of the local market;
- Facilitating access to financing for innovative and digital transformation projects;
- Creating and strengthening networks between companies, educational institutions, and local administrations;
- Supporting SMEs in adopting new digital technologies to become more efficient and competitive.
The recognition received through this report validates the path we have chosen and highlights the concrete results we have achieved so far.
Being featured in the UNIDO report is a validation of our strategy and motivates us to continue along this path. TEDIHT remains committed to its mission of supporting digital transformation in the northwestern region and contributing to the development of a competitive and innovative economic environment.
Starting on October 1st, we will launch Call 3 for beneficiary selection, and we will continue to build partnerships and address industry challenges through innovative digital solutions. Our goal is to expand our impact and support even more organizations and businesses in their efforts to digitalize.
