This function is fulfilled in the action plan of Transilvania DIH using mainly the expertise and infrastructure of the orchestrator, of the partners from the university environment, of each partner in the cluster, which becomes within Transilvania DIH a point of reference for piloting and displaying innovative digitization technologies specific to its field, but also the infrastructure provided by local public administrations in the region.

Infrastructures for testing activity before investing will be provided by the following partners:

Babeș-Bolyai University is considered the best university in Romania according to the Best Global Universities ranking, respectively Web Ranking of Universities, with lines of study in Romanian, Hungarian and German, established in 1872.
Babeș-Bolyai University has 12 institutes, 53 centers Research. For the activities of Transylvania DIH will be available: 7 research centers for the field of Information and Communication Technology, 1 institute and 6 research centers for the field of Bio and nano-technologies, 1 institute and 3 research centers for the field of Medicine / Health, 2 institutes and 1 research center for the field of Agri-food, biodiversity, 1 research institute, 2 research centers for the field of Environment and 1 institute, 2 research centers for the field of Physics, materials and materials science.
Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (UTCN): university of advanced research and education, established in 1942, with 12 faculties divided into two educational centers in Cluj-Napoca and Baia Mare, including automation and computers, machine building, electronics, telecommunications and information technology, materials and environmental engineering, electrical, plant and mechanical engineering.
The existing expertise at the university level, as a center of competences and research entity, for Artificial Intelligence, High Performance Computing, Cyber Security, Advanced Digital Skills technologies is presented through bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral programs that address these technologies and through research centers. and similar research structures in these areas.
UTCN has 29 research centers, 29 research groups and 22 research laboratories. For the activities of Transylvania DIH will be available: 1 research center and 2 research groups on food analysis for the field of Agri-food and biodiversity, 1 research center, 3 laboratories for the field of Bio- and nano-technologies, 2 research laboratories for the field Medicine / Health, 4 research centers, 7 laboratories for the field of Information and Communication Technology, 4 research centers for the field of Environment, 3 research centers, 4 laboratories for the field of Physics, materials and materials science, 7 research centers, 6 laboratories for field Machinery and equipment, advanced technologies, 4 laboratories for the field Energy and energy efficiency.


Transilvania IT Cluster provides its partners with Transilvania Living Lab as a testing and co-innovation structure. Through Transilvania Living Lab, technology partners, public administration and academic and research institutions will have access to skills, methods, methodologies, know-how, tools and communities for co-creation, prototyping and testing. Transilvania Living Lab’s mission is to test technological solutions and digital innovations in various contexts that allow technology companies to co-innovate and generate economic and social value adapted to the contexts.
Cluj Napoca City Hall provides Transylvania DIH, the infrastructure of the Regional Center of Excellence for Creative Industries – CREIC. CREIC is a building arranged in four different bodies, being structured vertically with three levels of basement, ground floor and four floors. With a total usable area of approximately 13,300 sqm, the center has 2,230 sqm dedicated for office space, 966 sqm for creative workshops, 1,056 sqm for multifunctional spaces and a 629 sqm studio hall. In addition to the infrastructure suitable for organizing events and networking, the building will be equipped with 3 laboratories (CGI & VFX, DESIGN DEVELOPMENT, MACHINE LEARNING & AUTOMATION) equipped with useful equipment for testing activities before investing.

BOWI
Aims to transfer knowledge in the specific activities of the 10 DIHs in the project. In this project Transilvania DIH collaborates with the largest DIHs in the EU such as: TNO, VTT, RWTH and other DIHs in neighboring countries.

DIH2
The largest pan-European network of Digital Innovation Hubs funded by the H2020 program and aims to support SMEs in Europe by providing robotics and automation solutions in manufacturing companies.
