Transilvania Digital Innovation Hub works strategically to catalyze regional innovation potential and capabilities. On the other hand, it acts as provider of competences, know-how, innovation programs, support for startups and SMEs. With a vision to increase competitivity through an innovative mix between technologies, skills, systemic approach, operational models, it engages relevant regional stakeholders and proactively adapts to European and global trends. Transilvania DIH sets the framework for digital transformation in all businesses and public sector through a cross-sectoral approach.
Transilvania Digital Innovation Hub is the first operational DIH in Romania, recognized in 2019 as “Fully Operational DIH” by the European Commission JRC and also a finalist in Digital Innovation Hub Champion Challenge 2019 in Madrid.
Transilvania DIH was presented as a good practice example in the report of recommendations published by European Group of Clusters Experts within the European Commission, for the strong partnership built within the DIH and for the cross-sectoral approach. Another merit of Transilvania DIH is that the entity was a finalist in the prestigious competition DIH Champions Challenge that took place in 2019 in Madrid. The contribution through the efforts and activities in the area of innovation through digital transformation made within T DIH, played a decisive role in selecting the city of Cluj-Napoca as a finalist, among the top 6 cities in the European Union, in the competition organized by the European Commission, European Capital of Innovation – iCapital, in 2020. T DIH is also the coordinator of the national network of Romanian DIHs on the DIHNET.EU platform and the initiator of the representative association of DIHs in Romania, RODIH.

Transilvania Digital Innovation Hub is the engine of innovation and digital transformation in the Nord-West region of Romania. It was established in 2017 by Transilvania IT Cluster in collaboration with 4 other clusters covering Wood Manufacturing, Agrofood, Energy & Creative Industries sectors from the North-West region of Romania. Now, Transilvania DIH represents a strong consortium of 12 partners: 2 Universities, 1 City Hall, 1 R&D institution and 8 clusters and have successfully passed the national selection and nominated for the North-West region of Romania in the EDIH call.
